I recently got a morning off while Dr. Hubs played at home with the kids. So what did I do? Well, I went to buy new underwear. And then I stopped at a favorite consignment store. I had some things to drop off but I spent some quality time browsing while they were reviewing my items.
The first thing I found was a gray jacket by Kate Spade Saturday line. It’s a size larger than I usually wear but I love that there are not buttons or zippers or closures….perfect for a throw on jacket this fall…I’m planning on wearing this over basically everything and putting a scarf with it too. I started to play around with some outfits but it’s still so hot I can’t even think about layers and wool and the color gray.
I tried on a few dresses but I feel like my wardrobe is really dress heavy right now so I passed on a few frocks that were cute but just not needed. But I did wander over to the shoes….and found two pairs of flats I’ll be able to wear fall, winter and spring. The first pair is a pair Banana Republic Robin flats that retail for $88…I love their shoes, they always fit me well and since I paid $16 I’m not going to cry if I scuff them on the playground with the kids.
The second pair of shoes I found are Tory Burch Dakota loafers in navy leather with white painted flowers. These retail for $240 and I got them for $55! I plan on wearing the hell out of these and pairing them with white denim, skirts and dresses.
The final steal were two pairs of Kate Spade gumdrop earrings. I love the size of these studs mainly because I’m a minimalist when it comes to jewelry. I found these in gray and purple…so they will go into my earring arsenal for daily use! These earrings retail around $38 and I got each pair for $16.
All together I spent $128 (the store was running a 20% off everything that day as an extra bonus!). My girls were a little sad when I came home because I went shopping without them…but it was nice to browse a store, try things on and pick a few ‘new to me’ items I can layer into my wardrobe.
